The Heights, TX
Location is everything, and The Heights is located right in the middle of it all. Located just 4 miles northwest of Downtown Houston, The Heights was named for the fact that its elevation is 23 feet higher than the surrounding downtown area. It was originally founded in the late 1800s as a streetcar suburb of Houston – a planned community for Houstonians who didn’t want to live in the dense city.

The Heights is full of historic charm and a unique mix of architecture styles including Historic Victorian, Craftsman, bungalows, and farmhouse-style homes. Stroll along the tree-lined streets, visit the spacious parks, stop in and shop at the boutiques along 19th street, and grab a bite to eat at any number of the fantastic restaurants. The Heights is a neighborhood with both old Houston charm and a modern, trendy vibe.

The Heights is one of Houston’s most walkable neighborhoods. Street block parties are common here, and neighbors quickly become close friends. The Heights has a booming food and bar scene, amazing murals, and a plethora of unique mom-and-pop shops and cafes. It’s easy to forget that you’re still in the biggest city in Texas, because The Heights feels like a close-knit small town.
